The British Chiropractic Association welcomes Wes Streeting’s commitment to NHS reform

Earlier this week, BCA President, Tim Button, had the pleasure to attend The Labour Party’s Annual Conference to meet policy makers and support the Right to Rehab Campaign which the BCA is part of. We continue our political research exploring how the BCA can influence the political agenda about the current MSK crisis in the UK. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
Commenting on Wes Streeting’s Conference speech, BCA President, Tim Button, said, “The British Chiropractic Association welcomes Wes Streeting’s commitment to NHS reform and his vision to empower patients with more control over their healthcare. The proposal to expand patient choice is an exciting development, and we believe that enabling people to choose their treatment paths is essential for improving outcomes, particularly for those suffering from musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions. With growing waiting lists for NHS services, the BCA stands ready to support patients seeking quicker, alternative interventions.
Our members are already embedded in communities across the UK, providing expert MSK care that could help alleviate the burden on the NHS. We believe greater integration of healthcare professions, such as chiropractic, is crucial to tackling the current waiting list crisis. By fully utilising the skills and expertise of a wide range of regulated healthcare professionals, we can reduce delays and ensure people are treated faster, helping them get back to work and their lives sooner.
We look forward to engaging with the Government and the wider healthcare community to ensure that reform delivers real benefits to patients, especially when it comes to timely and effective care for MSK conditions.
