Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures released for 2023/2024
Last week, the ONS statistics for estimates of employment, unemployment and economic inactivity for the UK were released for the period September to November of 2024.
In the year to November 2024, the UK employment rate was largely unchanged at 74.8%, and the UK unemployment rate increased to 4.4%.
There was an annual decrease in the number of people who were economically inactive alongside a quarterly decrease in September to November of 2024, with the current statistics at 21.6% of the population being economically inactive.
The BCA hope to see this number continue to drop. The MSK crisis effected roughly 30% of the population and caused 6.6 million workdays lost in 2023/24. We believe that through the introduction of chiropractors into the NHS healthcare system, the number of workdays lost and individuals who are economically inactive will significantly drop.
