Chiro Live 2025: The Highlights

How we honoured 100 years of the BCA and inspired the future of chiropractic.

The British Chiropractic Association’s (BCA) landmark conference, Chiro Live 2025: Celebrating Excellence, Shaping the Future, concluded this past weekend, leaving a profound and indelible mark on the profession. Held at the majestic De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor, the two-day event (November 14-15) was not just an annual gathering, but a historic celebration of the BCA’s 100th birthday. Attracting record numbers of delegates, exhibitors, and international guests, the conference was universally hailed as an overwhelming success, seamlessly blending cutting-edge clinical knowledge with transformative business insights and unforgettable celebratory moments.

The energy and momentum generated over the weekend fully embodied the conference theme, setting a new benchmark for chiropractic education and community building. From the moment delegates arrived at the stunning 18th-century estate to the final, inspiring address, the atmosphere buzzed with shared purpose, professional dedication, and excitement for the next century of care.

BCA President Tim Button, commented on the event's success:

Chiro Live 2025 was more than a conference; it was the jubilant culmination of a century of dedication, innovation, and trust. This event wasn’t just about celebrating the BCA’s 100th birthday - it was a powerful, tangible demonstration of the incredible future we are building together. From visionary talks and energetic breakout sessions to inspiring recognitions and awards, we have armed our profession with the cutting-edge evidence and business acumen needed to thrive. What Chiro Live 2025 has truly brought to the profession is a renewed sense of unity, a higher standard for clinical excellence, and the absolute conviction that some of our best work is still ahead of us”.

A Programme of Inspirational and Clinical Insight

The conference’s main stage boasted a truly stellar line-up, meticulously curated to provide both inspiration and evidence-based clinical knowledge. This year’s programme featured global leaders, inspiring personalities, and innovators whose insights challenged and broadened our perspective on chiropractic care.

Highlights included Dr William Morgan, President of Parker University and internationally recognised advocate for the profession, who explored Kairos – the art of taking action at the right time – and the complexities of lumbar stenosis. Joe Wicks, The Body Coach, who joined us for a fireside chat on movement, mindset and living well, offering a fresh dimension to learning and professional growth.

Sharing about his experience at Chiro Live 2025, Dr William Morgan said:

It was a true joy to join you all for Chiro Live 2025, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Windsor and was genuinely touched by the hospitality and warmth shown throughout the event. My appreciation goes to the entire BCA team for the thoughtful planning, seamless coordination, and the spirit of excellence that made Chiro Live 2025 such a standout experience”.

We were also thrilled to be joined by Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, who shared lessons on resilience and reinvention from his extraordinary career, and Dr Edward Cambridge, whose evidence-driven approach to spinal assessment and the McGill Method continues to shape best practice across the world. Added to that, we had the legendary Ulrik Sandstrøm providing practical muscle testing techniques and BCA Past President, Michael Copland-Griffiths (1985 – 1987), bringing the BCA’s legacy to life in his unique and personal account of the Association’s milestones, challenges and defining moments as part of his Past, Present and Future session.

Commenting on this year’s incredible programme, BCA Vice President, Faye Deane, said:

Chiro Live 2025 was a landmark event in every sense - not only a celebration of a century of the BCA, but also a bold step forward for our profession. The programme was designed to offer something for everyone - students, experienced practitioners, and those working in non-clinical roles. What made this gathering so powerful was the community it represents: colleagues, friends, and peers united by a shared mission to deliver exceptional care and to push the boundaries of what chiropractic can achieve. Chiro Live 2025 was more than just a conference; it was a celebration of who we are as a profession and the future we are building together”.

Past President, Michael Copland-Griffiths, said:

With the BCA’s amazingly forward-thinking team, I know that Chiropractic in the UK has a future in contributing to the management of MSK conditions, ultimately on the NHS, and surviving as a distinct profession. Thank you for making that possible.”

Dynamic Breakout Sessions Fuelling Practical Growth

A cornerstone of Chiro Live 2025’s success was the exceptional range of interactive breakout sessions and masterclasses, designed for both clinical and non-clinical staff.

The conference excelled in providing targeted, specialised education, allowing delegates to tailor their learning to specific areas of practice growth. The popular ‘MSK Through the Ages’ breakout session provided a comprehensive, full-lifecycle approach to patient care. The stream was subdivided into focused sessions on MSK health in older age (delivered by Faye Deane), addressing age-related biomechanical changes and common pathologies; the mid-age athlete (delivered by Meriel Davis), focusing on managing complex demands of active adults; and paediatric care (delivered by Rachael Thomson), ensuring practitioners are equipped with the evidence and techniques necessary for treating their youngest patients. This full-spectrum approach to musculoskeletal health was a core takeaway for many.

A growing area of interest was addressed in our dedicated session on Animal Chiropractic. Led by experts from the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC), delegates had the unique opportunity to explore the anatomy, biomechanics, and specialised treatment approaches for animal patients. Complete with live demonstrations, this interactive session was incredibly popular, showcasing the expanding scope and relevance of chiropractic expertise beyond human care.

Equally essential was the Non-Clinical Masterclass, a session vital for strengthening the foundational success of every practice. Tailored for receptionists, practice managers, and clinical assistants, the masterclass focused on enhancing patient communication, mastering efficient scheduling, and skilful conflict management, ensuring that the front-of-house team is as well-equipped as the clinician.

Balancing this professional drive was the Rejuvenate-Reflect-Restore session, which offered a vital space for attendees to focus on their own well-being, acknowledging the importance of self-care in a demanding career. The session’s highlight was the Silent Yoga with instructor Chet, using noise-cancelling headsets to guide focus inward and restore attendees’ energy, in combination with guided breathwork and gentle movement – a truly exceptional experience.

Investing in the Future: The Student Workshop

A vital investment in the next generation of practitioners was our dedicated Student Workshop, led by members Philippa Oakley, Sam Tiley, Kathryn Deverson and Hannah Chambers. This dedicated session was a crucial bridge between academia and professional life, providing students with practical clinical tips, business fundamentals, and an invaluable opportunity to network directly with established practitioners and industry leaders. The workshop aimed to equip them with the confidence and understanding needed to successfully launch their careers, breaking down the challenges of patient expectations, professional boundaries and time management.

BCA Board Member and Conference Speaker, Philippa Oakley, noted the significance of the session, stating:

"The Student Workshop is crucial because it’s where we actively bridge the gap between academic theory and clinical reality. It’s an investment in the future of our profession, providing the next generation with the practical tools and direct mentorship they need to hit the ground running, confident and prepared".
