
Cardiff local chiropractor, Annabel Kier, was based at University of South Wales Pontypridd campus, was recognised at the British Chiropractic Association’s (BCA) annual BCA Excellence Awards on Saturday 12th October, winning the Chiropractor of the Year award.
The BCA Excellence Awards are an opportunity to recognise the exceptional achievements of Chiropractors across the country, and celebrate the BCA’s best-in-class members, demonstrating its patient-centred approach.
Annabel’s 36-year career has been marked by dedication to both patient care and education. Starting in Ramsgate in 1988, she developed clinics and worked across Plymouth, Bournemouth, and Winchester, while raising a family.
Her teaching career began at AECC, expanded in Canada, and flourished at the University of South Wales, where she became a senior lecturer. Throughout, she skilfully balanced clinical practice and education, leaving a lasting impact on students and the chiropractic profession through her compassion, expertise, and commitment.
Winners were chosen based on the number of votes they received, and the content of their nominations being in line with the awards criteria.
Annabel Kier, South Wales local and BCA member, said:
“It is a great honour to receive this award from the British Chiropractic Association (BCA) for my years as an educator. I truly enjoyed teaching at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic - University of South Wales. The aim has always been to encourage students to become caring, evidence-informed and patient-centred chiropractors and the BCA has shown its support for this in many ways over the years, for which I am very grateful”
