What is the BCA annual conference?

As the largest representative body for chiropractors in the UK, we believe it’s imperative for the profession to come together annually to learn about the latest techniques, research and public health trends. As a group with shared interests, coming together to connect and network is something we know our members value in a profession that often sees them working independently.

Duration and CPD

The conference is a 1.5 day event that consists of seminars, lectures and workshops, equating to approximately 12 hours of CPD for chiropractors. It usually stretches across a Saturday daytime and Sunday morning and takes place every Autumn, normally in early October.

Location and attendance

We’re obviously keen for the location to be as easy to reach for as many BCA members as possible. In the past, we have moved the venue around the country to make it easy to access. Following feedback from members, in 2018 and 2019 we’ve opted for Birmingham as a central location which is easily reached by members. You do not have to be a BCA member to attend the BCA’s conference, although members do receive a favourable booking rate.

Gala Dinner and Awards

Saturday night is celebration time! Members vote in the BCA Awards before the conference, which are then presented at the Gala Dinner on Saturday night. By celebrating those in our community who are furthering our profession we continue to demonstrate the value of our collective group os members to both our community and the wider healthcare landscape.

After the awards its time to let your hair down however suits you – by enjoying the live music, dancing or catching up with friends.

Elections & AGM

The BCA is run by members for members. This means that the BCA Board is made up of elected representatives who members vote for. The elections take place prior to the conference and results announced at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) during conference weekend. As a membership body, we believe that transparency is crucial to our members understanding the value of their fees.
