British Chiropractic Association takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of The BCA:
- Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.
- Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.
- Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. The BCA is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

The website is supported natively in widely-distributed user agents that are also accessibility supported (such as HTML and CSS).
The BCA is not compatible with:
- Some visual (not functional) issues on Tablet browsers and smaller laptop screens 1440 and less.

Limitations and alternatives

Known limitations for The BCA:
- Developer aware: Some uploaded images may not have text alternatives because These are managed by CMS and various editors and we cannot ensure the quality of contributions. Trying to force alt text on all uploads or at the least, an empty alt tag when not appropriate. Reach out to us on contact details provided.
- Developer aware: Some colour combinations and contrast can be improved because A result of signed off designs.. We are looking at adjustments we can make to improve the contrast. Reach out to us on contact details provided.
- Developer aware: Google maps is not fully acccessible because Google maps isn't fully accecssible out of the box and therefore by adopting it, users may observe issues. Looking at improvments we can make so maps are more accessible. Reach out to us on contact details provided.
