A Homecoming to Remember!

BCA Conference 2022 – back in person and better than ever.

This year’s BCA conference saw over 300 members, GPs, physiotherapists and other MSK specialists, sponsors, exhibitors and chiropractic students coming together for the first time since 2019 to showcase our common Vision for chiropractic to be integral to UK healthcare and celebrate our Mission of being the home for chiropractors who put patients first.

It was a pleasure to welcome everyone who joined us for our fantastic ‘Homecoming’ at The Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham and we hope that it left you with a wide array of new knowledge, multitude of new connections within our community and beyond, and heaps of inspiration for next year’s goals.

We learned, laughed and made memories together, all captured by our talented photographer, Philip Rowley. We are delighted to share with you some of the photos from the weekend, alongside our best highlights. This page also contains some important announcements related to CPD, online access to the conference content, award winners and more. We will be adding more photos in the coming days so please keep an eye on this page.

So, without further ado, scroll down to see what we have prepared for you and thank you for coming!

We hope you enjoyed our incredible speaker line-up, where the best-selling author, TV presenter and full-time GP, Dr Amir Khan, topped the bill with his talk about how solutions lie within a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and better understanding around the different capabilities of healthcare professionals.

Throughout his talk, Dr Khan said, “Patient care is multifaceted and it takes more than one clinician to treat a patient. We need to train more people to work in primary care [and] it would be wonderful for me to be able to refer my patients to chiropractors within the NHS.

We discussed the opportunities and drawbacks on the journey to chiropractic becoming integral to UK healthcare, discovered the ‘secrets’ of diagnostic ultrasound and dived deep into the chiropractic profession, its challenges and how to overcome them.

We had a huge amount of hands-on workshops, including practical approaches to hip and shoulder pain, self-confidence, Active Release Techniques® for the treatment of lower back pain, and even joint injections. We heard delegates speak of the pride they have in their professional home and we couldn’t be happier that we are delivering what our members and stakeholders want, need and deserve from the British Chiropractic Association.

What really marked the weekend was the positivity, community spirit and enthusiasm of our wonderful delegates, including the members of our student community. This is just the beginning of what is set to be a very exciting chapter for the BCA; thank you all for being part of it, whether you made it to conference or not.

What a weekend at the BCA Homecoming conference. Saturday not only gave me great pride in being a BCA member, but also being part of the WIOC family.” – Kyla Koçak

It was a total pleasure to meet and interview the very lovely Dr Amir Khan and hear how warmly he spoke about the chiropractic profession.” – Catherine Quinn

BCA Patient Charter

#BCAConference2022 saw the grand launch of the BCA Patient Charter within the healthcare community.

The Patient Charter is now proudly displaying in members’ clinics all around the UK and abroad, for patients to see every day and be reminded of the quality care they’ll receive in the hands of BCA chiropractors. We codified the very central and recurring promises made by any professional clinician to create a vehicle for BCA chiropractors to provide their patients with reassurance that they are regulated, credible, evidence-informed, ethical experts, working within the modern healthcare sector.

As a conference attendee, you had the opportunity to take a picture with the BCA Patient Charter and share a message on what the Charter means to you. We are now pleased to share the digital interactive mosaic that includes all the photos taken throughout the conference weekend, for you to explore and share on your social media channels, websites and blogs.
