Peter Dixon wins BCA Chiropractor of the Year 2020

This year we honour Peter’s lifetime of service to the chiropractic profession, with special recognition of his completing his tenure as President of the RCC and being awarded the status of President Emeritus.

BCA President, Catherine Quinn said: “Peter Dixon has remained an active and progression change-maker in the chiropractic profession throughout the past 36 years. Peter embodies the passion and drive needed to see positive developments in our story and has contributed to so much of what many of us take for granted in the UK chiropractic profession. With his renewed focus on increasing the size of the profession through undergraduate education provision, we are still seeing the successes to which Peter is dedicated through the newest of our UK Chiropractic institutions. I want to personally thank Peter for his support in the past few years and his ability to see the necessity for innovation.”

Peter was surprised with the award from the BCA while he was at home one evening prior to the BCA conference, and was formally presented with the prestigious cup at the event on 10th October (broadcast virtually).

Peter said, “It was a real surprise to me to receive this award, and also a great honour; being recognised by your peers for the work that you have done is great.  When I graduated there were only 140 Chiropractors working in this country and we were little known and working on the fringes of healthcare in the UK.  Now there are over 3000 of us, we are a regulated, with a Royal College, a respected profession and a major player in the MSK sector, even though we are still very small in the grand scheme of things.  Much of that influence is down to the work that the BCA has done over the years and I feel very proud and privileged to have been part of that journey.  This award makes me still feel part of the BCA story and that is great.

Thank you to the BCA Council for thinking of me, and I look forward to watching the BCA continue to play a positive and constructive role in promoting the benefits of chiropractic care both here in the UK and overseas.

Onwards and upwards!”

Congratulations Peter!
